27-28 Aug 2007, Total Lunar Eclipse: Hawaii

Taken from our front porch, resting the camera on the railing, using the swing-away view screen instead of the eyepiece for increased stability. Typical shots were about a second long. Cropped in Photoshop 5.0 LE to reduce the field of view. Camera is Canon PowerShot Pro 1, 7x optical zoom. Enjoy!

You may be able to make out the roofline of the house at about the 7 o'clock position of the moon. The eclipse is starting at the 9 o'clock position.
